Tinubu: Picture ‘no dey lie’, says Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu yesterday discarded unfounded reports on the health status of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, saying that the former governor is hale and hearty.

Responding to questions by the state House Correspondents on vira photos of Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu at a location supposedly aimed at debunking the rumour that the strongman of Lagos politics is dead, Sanwo-Olu simply said: “picture no dey lie”.
He described the trending report about the demise of the national leader as a rumour, saying that Tinubu is okay and healthy contrary to the unsubstantiated speculations making round.
The governor, who made the revelation at Alausa, shortly after commissioning 102 waste trucks and 100 double dino bins, said that picture has spoken.

Sanwo-Olu said, “Our leader that I went to see, there was a rumour peddling around. He is well, he is healthy. We conversed about what is happening in our party and nation. We should put our minds at rest; there is nothing to worry about. Can’t you see? Picture no dey lie!”

Earlier, the Special Adviser on Media to Tinubu, Tunde Rahman had, in a statement, confirmed that his principal is alive and without any medical problem.

The statement read: “His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is fine. He is hale and hearty. He is not in any hospital. He has no medical problem that would require hospitalization. Yes he is out of the country at the moment. He will be back shortly. Anytime he travels out of the country, the next thing some mischievous people would say is he is sick, hospitalized or has died.

“It is shameful that perpetrators of this evil are not deterred by the fact that each time this fake news has been propagated, they have been proven wrong. Who really is afraid of Asiwaju Tinubu? Those wishing Asiwaju Tinubu evil or dead should be careful. They should know the matter of life and death is in the hand of only God Almighty.”
