Glitz and glamour as Daini marks1,584 Days in office

…Gives account of stewardship

For residents of  Igbogbo/ Bayeku Local Council Development Area, November 15, 2021 will remain ever green in their memory as the day when the news of dividends of democracy was re-echoed.

The residents weren’t just informed about positive developments that has taken place under Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini but excited about the giant strides his administration has made as the Chairman of the council in the last 1,584 days in office.
Hence, residents comprising the old and young  rolled out drums to celebrate unparalleled acheivemements of Honourable Daini at the colourful event   which was held at the newly built Secretariat’s Hall.


Leading the number dignitaries were Olubeshe of Ibeshe , His Royal Majesty, Oba Richard Abayomi Ogunsanya, Representatives from the Adeboruwa-in-Council, former Deputy Governor, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former SSG, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun; former Minister of Works and Infrastructure, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Member House of Assembly, Hon. Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka, former Commissioner for Agriculture, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, former Ag. Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. (Mrs) Adebimpe Akinsola, former HoS, Aremo Omo’ba Adesegun Ogunlewe and Hon Gbenga Oshin.

Also in attendance were the former Council Chairmen, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Prince Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa, Hon. Adegbenga Basanya, Hon. Taiwo Orenuga and Chief (Mrs) Bolanle Basorun. Others are the Vice Chairman, Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Nureni Maja-Okedina, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA APC Chairman, Alhaji Sefiu Ogunyemi, Councillors of Ward C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5, Hon Basirat Banjoko, Hon. Hakeem Sholawon, Hon Nurudeen Alimi, Hon. Mathew Arowolo and Hon. A. Anifowose, Chief of Staff, Mr Adewale Bolowotan, Coordinator, NYCN, Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, Mr Lateef Odusanya, Council Manager amongst other management team.

Giving the account of his stewardship to mark his 1,584 days in office, Daini said his administration had made laudable achievements in the areas of Works, Agriculture, Social Development; Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation; Primary Health Care, Education and Library, Security, Infrastructure, etc…
Again, on July 24, 2021, the good people of Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA returned us into the office for second term with greater purpose and expectations. This government is thus a government of continuity, to provide better service and dividends of democracy to the people. 


“Today marks our 1,584 days in office, making egalitarianism a common experience to the people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA; this makes continuity of good governance a desire of our people. The focus of this administration is embedded in the THEMES agenda of Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State. 
“The hallmarks of our last dispensation were the commissioning of the Council’s new administrative Complex, Kaniyi/Adeboruwa Market and Motor Park, construction of Oluwo Amoju/Olayinka Street and others, so we have good foundation to build upon. 
“Our roads infrastructure is the topmost priority of this administration: drainage clearing, palliative and construction of our roads will begin very soon. In order to improve standard of our transportation system and security on our roads even at night, our administration will be installing solar powered streetlight on Oba Molaja Road before the end of this year,” the chairman said.
He revealed that the Council’s legislature has approved the establishment of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Public Works to give urgent and immediate attention to roads damages to avoid deplorable situation on roads. Noting that the legislature has equally approved the compulsory branding and profiling of every bike rider working in the LCDA; to ensure safety and security of roads and people. 

Daini further stated: “Our administration is committed to standard healthcare delivery system in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. Efforts are in top gear to rehabilitate and renovate both Offin and Elepe health centers. 
“We are providing every support and supervision for the ongoing Comprehensive and Standard  Primary Healthcare Center in Agbele,  Igbogbo. The abandoned Federal General hospital project is getting a push by Hon Babajimi Benson for completion. 

On area of rural electrification, he hinted that his administration made provisions for the installation two units of 300KVA  transformers for some communities and we intend to do more, adding that the administration also adopted an uncompromising goal for both quantitative and qualitative primary education in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. 
“Part of our resolve is to ensure that all our primary schools are fenced to ensure our children are learning in a quiet and secured environment. We have started provision of benches and desks for all the primary schools and converting every blackboard to white marker board; as well as provision of writing and instructional materials. 
“The work on the modern library, facilitated by our administration is in desired speed; the library will be delivered for public use soon. We are setting up Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA’s quality education team to monitor and ensure that our teachers are doing well and pupils are responsive. We are also embarking on provision of running stipends to our primary schools’ head teachers to aid administration of education activities in the schools. 
“We have facilitated construction of the first public primary school in Olu-Odo community through the magnanimity of Hon. Babajimi Benson, after we received a donation of an acre of land from Olu-odo family. The construction will by God’s grace be completed very soon and the first set of pupils will resume learning in the facility in 2022. 
“We also facilitated one block of six classrooms in Methodist Primary School, Elepe, also championed by Hon. Babajimi Benson. Our administration will be sponsoring  winner of Igbogbopedia on historic international educational trip, the project that will be adopted as Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA annual project”.
